Louisburg United Methodist Church partners with Zoe Empowers to support vulnerable youth and child-led families in Rwanda. Rather than providing short-term aid, Zoe equips young people with the training, resources, mentoring, and community support they need to become self-sufficient and break the cycle of extreme poverty. Over a three-year program, participants develop sustainable businesses, improve food security, access education and healthcare, and build strong support networks within their communities.
LUMC is honored to sponsor the Abunzubumwe ("Unity") Mukindo Empowerment Group. Through the generosity and prayers of our congregation, we are privileged to walk alongside these youth as they work toward lasting independence.
Below are updates, reports, and videos documenting their progress throughout the program, followed by a letter from Laura Nemcek of Zoe Empowers.
Thank you for providing the financial and prayerful backing which is making it possible for these youth-led families to overcome the challenges of extreme poverty so that they can live productive and happy lives.
With warm regards,
Laura Nemcek
