Reverend Tuck Taylor, Pastor
tucktaylor@nccumc.org
I have the best job and am blessed each day by serving Louisburg UMC as their pastor. Having grown up in the small town of Faison, NC, I have a heart for small communities and churches and there are none finer than Louisburg and Louisburg UMC. I am a graduate of Duke Divinity School and over the last 20 years I have had the joy of serving churches in Kenansville, Chapel Hill, Black Creek, Wilson, and now Louisburg UMC.
My husband, George, is the pastor at First UMC in Henderson. We live in Louisburg and together we are the proud parents and step-parents of 6 children, ages 23-34: Andrew, Daniel, Joseph, Matthew, Caroline and Beth. Together we enjoy getaways to the beach and mountains, reading, eating out, talking all things church, and being with friends and family.

Phyllis Ihrie, Organist
I love my church! What a blessing my LUMC family has been to my life! The music program holds a special place in my heart, as I moved to Louisburg in 1988 and began playing the organ/piano here. The friends I have come to know & love through the Chancel Choir, the Youth Choir, the Joyful Singers, both handbell choirs, the directors/leaders/accompanists and all the preachers I’ve worked with, and the loving/supportive/encouraging church members….I am just so grateful and honored to have been a part of this wonderful church family. I have also enjoyed playing at Louisburg College when needed.
Another side of my life: I’m kind of a home body. I love spending time with my wonderful family & friends (…and especially my precious little grandbaby, Brooklyn), going to the beach, going to the movies, Duke basketball.
